Day 1: Arrival and birding in Entebbe
Our representative will welcome you at the airport, and depending on your arrival time; Early arrivals will enable you visit some places in Entebbe like Botanical gardens for birding where you will be able to see various bird species like; orange tufted, red-chested Sunbirds, orange weaver, slender-billed, Northern Brown –throated, yellow backed, Jackson’s Golden –backed, Black-headed, Vieillot’s black weavers, you may also spot the long tailed Cormorant, Common Squacco and black-headed herons, hamerkop, African Open-billed Stork, yellow billed duck, Grey headed gull, various terns, giant and pied Kingfishers and swamp Flycatcher on the lake Victoria shores. Dinner and overnight stay at Sunset Hotel (Budget)/ Boma Guest House (Deluxe)/ Imperial Resort Beach Hotel (Luxury).
Day 2: Transfer to Kampala
After having a cup of coffee, you will head to Kampala which is the capital city for a short city tour. You will visit cultural sites like the King’s Palace, Kasubi tombs, religious sites like the Namugongo Martyrs’ shrine, Bahai Temple which is the only one of its kind in Africa mainly used for meditation, and the Rubaga Cathedral. Other places to visit include: Uganda Museum known to be the oldest in East Africa, the man made Kabaka’s lake and Makerere University which is the oldest institution in Africa. You’re your dinner and overnight stay at Hotel Sojovaro (Budget)/ Cassia Lodge (Midrange)/ Sheraton Hotel (Luxury).
Day 3: Transfer to Jinja
Enjoy your breakfast at the Hotel, and head to Jinja with en route sights of the flora and Fauna in Mabira forest and also a stopover at Sezibwa falls. The falls are on Sezibwa River, the only river believed to be born by a human being. Detour the Mabira forest where you will enjoy spectacular views of the bird life and monkeys at this spot. Proceed to Jinja where you will visit the Source of River Nile. Also visit the Kyabazinga’s palace (Busoga Kingdom’s King). Enjoy your dinner and overnight stay at Cool Breeze Hotel (Budget)/ Sun Set Hotel (Deluxe) / Jinja Nile Resort (Luxury).
Day 4: Whitewater rafting
After having a cup of tea, you will set off for the most exciting adventure in Jinja on the River Nile. The starting point is at Bujjagali. At this point you will first see where all grade rafters begin and end their rafting adventure. This will take you through the magnificent grade 8 rapids on the Nile and also reward you with spectacular views of the bird haven on the mighty Nile River. After the venture, you will transfer back to your lodge for dinner and overnight at your previous hotel (Day 3).
Day 5: Tororo Hill Climbing
After a warm early morning breakfast, you will drive to Tororo for an unforgettable experience of climbing the Tororo Rock hill where the highest altitude of the hill is 4865ft. you will also have a chance to visit the ancestral cave and the various Rock paintings on the hill. Return back for lunch at the Hotel and later, take pleasure from the community entertainment as you get exposed to the cultural performances from the native residents of the area. Enjoy dinner and overnight at Tororo Rock Hotel.
Day 6: Transfer to Mbale
Wakeup early for breakfast, then head to Mbale with en route lunch in town on reaching. Later in the afternoon participate in the forest walk within the Park. Dinner and overnight stay at Sipi Falls Resort/ Lacam Lodge or Sipi River camp
Day 7: Sipi Falls Tour
After enjoying the early morning breakfast, you will visit the Romantic Sipi Falls. The nature walk to the falls will reward you with sights of different floral species including Elgonensis lobelia and dotted clusters of peculiar groundsels. Return for lunch and later go for cave exploration and also visit the plantations of coffee, sugar cane and bananas. Dinner and overnight stay at your previous lodge (Day 6).
Day 8: Forest walk and transfer back to Kampala
Enjoy your breakfast and then head for a short guided forest walk to search for different bird species. Later transfer back to Kampala with lunch en route in Jinja town. You will be droped-off at your Hotel or at the Airport depending on your flight schedule.
